Ravaq-e Khedmat: “Religious Outreach”
An Overview of Religious Outreacgh Activities at Astan Qods Razavi

spiritual jouney. Religious teachings are not only transmitted but also reinforced and reproduced within the cultural and social context of the audience. Visual and auditory experiences of religious ceremonies, the shrine’s architecture, Quranic gatherings, and lectures can be widely represented and disseminated through media, extending the meaning and spirituality of rituals beyond physical presence. Understanding this potential, Astan Qods has developed a wide range of multimedia platforms to enhance the experience of domestic and intenational pilgrims. Multilingual social media channels, specialized websites, printed publications, analytical newspaper supplements such as Ravaq, and live broadcasts of ceremonies form part of a strategic media structure that conveys religious messages in engaging and effective ways. By combining textual and visual storytelling and using moden technologies, Razavi media not only inform but recreate the sense of presence in the shrine and the spiritual experience of rituals. The Imam Reza Global Network, one of the most important official media outlets of Astan Qods, is tasked with conveying Razavi teachings and culture intenationally. It is a global center for Ahl al-Bayt information services, promoting Islamic and Quranic culture and expanding Shi‘a teachings, presenting various aspects of the life of Imam Reza in English, Arabic, and Urdu across digital platforms.

Religious Outreach for Non-Iranian Pilgrims
Each year, nearly 30 million people visit the sacred shrine of Imam Reza, among whom about five million are non-Iranian pilgrims and visitors. The majority are devoted lovers of Imam Reza from both Sunni and Shi‘a backgrounds, while a smaller number of non-Muslims—drawn by the shrine’s culture, art, and spirituality—also visit. The Non-Iranian Pilgrims Office organizes various programs tailored to the linguistic and cultural backgrounds of these visitors, strengthening their spiritual connection to the shrine. Amid the bustle of travel and pilgrimage, questions and uncertainties about beliefs and religious rulings often arise. To address these deep spiritual needs, Astan Qods has established a comprehensive system for answering theological and legal questions and providing religious counseling to non-Iranian pilgrims. This service is offered daily by experienced and carefully selected scholars. Pilgrims can receive answers through individual counseling, participation in Circles of Knowledge, or attending Religious Q&A sessions in multiple languages. This approach not only resolves doubts but also provides a space for direct dialogue, offering peace of mind and guiding pilgrims along their spiritual jouney.
